As I get back into the swing of things (at least in the work-a-day world), I thought I’d ease into my first blog entry after my break.

Here goes:

* Track Info has another free online greyhound handicapping contest in the works. This time it will focus on Tucson Greyhound Park. The winner earns a seat in the $10,000 World Series of Greyhound Handicapping. For more information, click HERE.

* If you have any uncashed winning tickets from Derby Lane, Jacksonville, Palm Beach (all from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012) or Churchill Downs (April 28 through July 1), you have through August to get your money.

* Dubuque has the Hall of Fame Classic coming up Saturday night; more on that later this week.

* The Night School series at Horse Player Now continues to not only promote, but educate. It has expanded from its Tuesday program with a Friday evening program, and a Thursday night harness racing school. Learn more HERE.

* Saratoga has the Evan Shipman today, Lake George Wednesday and Quick Call Thursday.

* Woodbine has the Deputy Minister Wednesday.

* Bluffs Run hosts the finals of the $60,000 Open Saturday.

* Dubuque’s twin tri is $1,215.

* Derby Lane’s tri super is $14,708.

* Wheeling Island’s tri super is $10,709.

* Arlington Park’s super high five is $29,167.
