When I left work for my vacation 11 days ago, I said I wanted to win the laziest person in the world award.

I think I succeeded. It was a wonderful break: Handicapping and winning races, golf, doing very little.

But, it’s time for reality as work calls.

Here are a few things to get caught up:

* Southland is offering a pick 6. It’s a 50 cent base. It starts in the 11th race.

* Superior Product has won 6 in a row, and 11 of 15 races this season at Dubuque. He’s been on the board 14 times.

* Keep an eye on Sword and Bow at Dubuque. He took a break after Mardi Gras’ season, and has a first and third in Grade A. He also has the second fastest time this season of 30.55, right behind Product’s 30.44.

* Superior Kennel leads in purse and wins. Boeckenstedt Kennel is second in both.

Top race

* There are quite a few to choose from; the video shows a tight finish from Sunday’s 4th.

Note

* Winning tickets from Naples must be cashed by Friday.

Stakes

* Bluffs Run hosts the quarterfinals of the Open Wednesday, and the semifinals Saturday.

* Southland has the elimination round of the People’s Choice Friday night.

* At Arlington Park: Addison Cammack Saturday.

* At Prairie Meadows: The Handicap Saturday.

* At Saratoga: Shine Again Monday, Lake George Wednesday, Quick Call Thursday, Curlin Friday, Amsterdam and Jim Dandy Saturday and Shuvee Sunday.

* At Woodbine: Prime Minister Wednesday, Colin and Ontario Matron Saturday and Royal North Sunday.

Carryovers

* Dubuque’s twin tri is $1,195.

* Gulf’s late tri super is $14,205.

* Woodbine’s super high 5 is $47,911.
