ELKADER, Iowa — Concerns about COVID-19 prompted Elkader officials to close playgrounds at both city parks and to indefinitely delay the opening of the city’s campground.

The city announced Tuesday that officials are monitoring the situation and will open the campground as soon as possible.

It was scheduled to open April 1. It is located at 600 High St. and features more than 100 campsites.
