Just-announced presidential candidate appears in Dubuque Friday

Montana Gov. Steve Bullock announced today that he will seek the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination. Bullock will appear in Dubuque on Friday.

Steve Bullock, 53, the Democratic governor of Montana, is known for his efforts to collaborate with both Democrats and Republicans in a state that Donald Trump won easily in 2016.

Bullock released a video on social media focused on his Montana roots and work on campaign finance law. He also pushes for early childhood education and other policies aimed at reducing economic inequality.

Before he was elected governor in 2012, Bullock served a single term as Montana attorney general. He previously worked as an attorney in the offices of the attorney general and secretary of state.
