GARNAVILLO, Iowa -- What started for Brandon Adams as a class project should soon be on convenience-store shelves for purchase.

Adams, a 24-year-old entrepreneur, has invented the Arctic Stick, a small device that keeps bottled beverages cool after they're opened, or can add flavor to a bottled beverage. Adams has won competitions and gained notoriety for the product, which he said is being manufactured and should be in convenience stores by the end of the year -- he hopes before Christmas.
