CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- The National Weather Service says preliminary survey results indicate a brief tornado caused damage to homes at a Cedar Rapids mobile home park and left cuts on a child who lived there.
The damage happened about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Summit View Mobile Home Park. A social media post by the weather service said that a survey indicated an EF-0 tornado with maximum winds around 85 mph caused the damage in southwest Cedar Rapids.
Residents of the park said the roof of one mobile home was partially torn off in the storm, and windows in another home were blown out. One resident called 911 to report that their daughter had been cut by flying glass.
