As a native Michigander who spent many enjoyable weeks on Mackinac Island with my Boy Scout troop, I feel it necessary to correct a misspelling in your Sept. 25 editorial on meetings of the Iowa Communities Assurance Pool.

While you may take a ferry from Mackinaw (with a W) City to Mackinac (with a C) Island and both of them are pronounced “Mack-in-Aw,” they do have different spellings.
