It has been a year since the completion of the Southwest Arterial, and already a plan to develop a nearby industrial park has been proposed. I hope any proposal will include having on/off ramps and frontage roads to keep the Southwest Arterial from becoming like the Northwest Arterial with its many curb cuts, traffic lights and congestion.
If on/off ramps at Pennsylvania Avenue, Asbury Road and JFK Road were built along with frontage roads when the Northwest Arterial opened, just think of how smoothly the traffic would flow today. Traffic now moves smoothly along the Southwest Arterial, and the countryside is beautiful. Hopefully, developers won’t ruin it!
