U.S. Rep. Ashley Hinson, R-Iowa, announced this morning that she tested positive for COVID-19 again.
Hinson said in a statement that she currently is working remotely in Washington, D.C., following the positive test while isolating and following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance.
Hinson said she started experiencing mild, cold-like symptoms on Thursday afternoon, took a COVID-19 test and received a positive result. She noted in the statement that she is fully vaccinated against the disease and has received a booster shot.
"My team and I will continue working around the clock for Iowans, and I look forward to being back at work in person soon," she said in the statement.
This marks the second time that Hinson has announced being positive for COVID-19. The first occurred in November 2020, after she had been elected to her federal position but before she had taken office.
