ASBUR, Iowa -- Police said an Asbury teen has been charged in connection with two Dubuque burglaries.
Dubuque Police Department Lt. Ted McClimon that the 14-year-old is charged in juvenile court with two counts of third-degree burglary. His name is not being released because he faces juvenile charges.
A police report states that the first burglary occurred between 12:10 and 12:35 a.m. Monday at The Great Vape, 3250 Central Ave. The business reported $3,000 worth of merchandise as stolen, as well as $200 in cash. About $500 worth of damage also was reported.
McClimon said the same teen then was involved in a burglary at Dubuque Quality Auto, 3715 Peru Road. A report with more details was not immediately available, but McClimon said that burglary occurred at around 1 a.m. Monday.
Police are following up on both incidents to identify additional suspects, McClimon said.
