Police said an intoxicated woman crashed into a mobile home in Dubuque on Thursday night, causing about $25,000 worth of damage.
Alexis K. Duve, 21, of 4167 Bluebird Drive, was arrested at 9:30 p.m. Thursday at 4105 Bluebird Drive on a charge of first-offense operating while intoxicated. She was also cited with striking fixtures upon a highway.
The crash occurred at about 7:40 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Flamingo and Bluebird drives. Police said Duve was driving west on Flamingo when she didn’t make the turn to continue onto Bluebird but instead left the roadway and crashed into the mobile home at 4105 Bluebird Drive, causing a large hole.
Court documents state that Duve admitted crashing and that she had two alcoholic drinks and smoked marijuana prior to the incident. She failed standardized field sobriety tests. Police reported that Duve’s blood alcohol content was 0.181% — more than twice the legal driving limit of 0.08%.
