A Dubuque man has died while in custody in Linn County.
Marshall Mosby, 39, of Dubuque, was pronounced dead at 9:22 p.m. Friday in the Linn County Correctional Center, according to the Linn County Sheriff’s Department.
A press release states that Mosby told jail staff that he was not feeling well and was experiencing chest pains at 8:49 p.m. Friday. Mosby then became unresponsive and staff began lifesaving measures, including CPR and applying a heart monitor equipped with defibrillation capabilities.
Medical personnel arrived and continued providing treatment prior to pronouncing Mosby dead.
Mosby was transported to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation criminalistics laboratory in Ankeny for an autopsy.
Mosby had been in custody since Jan. 19, on a hold for the U.S. Marshal’s Service, according to the release.
Mosby was facing federal charges after authorities reported finding $20,000 worth of heroin and $6,000 worth of cocaine, along with psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana, in his Dubuque residence in October 2020.
