A Potosi, Wis., man died in an industrial accident Thursday at a Dubuque manufacturer.

Dennis A. Hall, 46, suffered fatal injuries during an accident at A.Y. McDonald, 4800 Chavenelle Road.

Authorities responded to the facility at 8:25 a.m. Thursday after it was reported that an employee was entrapped in equipment. Hall was no longer entrapped when emergency responders arrived on scene. He died at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque from his injuries, according to his obituary.

It states that he had worked at A.Y. McDonald for five years.

The Iowa Division of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the incident.

Rob McDonald, the president and CEO of A.Y. McDonald, said in a statement today that the company and its employees are reeling from the loss of a friend and co-worker.

"Dennis was a person with a ready smile who got to know a lot of people across our operation because of his friendly demeanor," McDonald wrote. "He did his job well and loved what he did for a living, as shared with us by his family. Our close-knit group of co-workers are supporting the Hall family and are leaning on each other in this time of unfathomable grief.”
