Police said a Dubuque woman’s blood alcohol content was more than three times the legal driving limit when she showed up to pick up her child from school.

Erin E. Fiegen, 38, of 335 Nevada St., was arrested at 4:41 p.m. Tuesday at Lincoln Elementary School, 555 Nevada St., on charges of neglect or abandonment of a dependent person and operating while intoxicated.

Court documents state that Lincoln staff alerted police that Fiegen appeared to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage when she arrived at the school at about 3:10 p.m. Tuesday to pick up her 6-year-old child.

Police reported that Fiegen showed signs of impairment and admitted to consuming a pint of vodka before driving to the school.

Fiegen was transported to Dubuque Law Enforcement Center, where a test showed her blood alcohol content measured 0.277% — more than three times the legal driving limit of 0.08%.
